Fight ‘establishment’ on college campuses
Secretary of Education Betsy
DeVos told a conservative conference Thursday that the fight against the
education establishment should be waged not only in K-12 schools but on
college campuses, where faculty tell students what to do, say and
“more ominously, what to think.”
“They say that if you voted
for Donald Trump, you’re a threat to the university community,” said
DeVos, a Grand Rapids area school choice advocate. “But the real
threat is silencing the First Amendment rights of people with whom you

The Chicago public school
system has decided to openly defy the president of the United States. More
than 392,000 students attend public schools in Chicago, and on Tuesday a
letter was sent home with each of those students telling their parents
that Chicago schools will not “assist in the enforcement of federal
civil immigration law”.
In fact, the letter actually says
that federal officials will not even be allowed “to access CPS
facilities”. In essence, every Chicago public school has now officially
been declared to be a “sanctuary” for illegal immigrants. If you would
like to see the original document, you can do so right
here. This is just another example of how deeply divided we are as a
nation. The entire public school system of one of our largest cities is
now in open rebellion against the president, and that is a very dangerous

simultaneously asserting that “the ecological crisis is real.”
“Christian terrorism does

meeting of populist movements.
What he apparently meant is
that not all Christians are terrorists and not all Muslims are

“No people is criminal or

So many are disturbed about
the coming fascist State brought about by the election of Trump. Yet
it is the Progressives who have integrated themselves and their purity
of thought into the job description of a “sensitivity reader.” So
meet the new propagandists who will ensure every word written conforms
to the dictates of the Progressives. Here from Moonbattery:
…Censors who study
manuscripts for thought crimes so that books can be revised or
rejected prior to publication are called “sensitivity readers.”
Tribune approvingly defines a sensitivity reader as “a person
who, for a nominal fee, will scan the book for racist, sexist or
otherwise offensive content.”
“The industry recognizes
this is a real concern,” said Cheryl Klein, a children’s and
young adult book editor and author of “The Magic Words: Writing
Great Books for Children and Young Adults.” Klein, who works at
the publisher Lee & Low, said that she has seen the casual use
of specialized readers for many years but that the process has
become more standardized and more of a priority, especially in books
for young readers.
Rigid control of what young
people read is a higher priority, because their opinions are more
malleable, still being in the process of forming.
Sensitivity readers have
emerged in a climate – fueled in part by social media – in which
writers are under increased scrutiny for their portrayals of people
from marginalized [i.e., politically favored] groups, especially
when the author is not a part of that group.
If you portray characters in
any light that could possibly be construed as reflecting negatively on
a politically preferred group like blacks, you are a racist thought
criminal; good luck getting published. Avoiding this problem by
ignoring blacks is exclusionary and therefore also racist. The only
course of action that is not racist is to crowd your work with
cartoonishly correct black characters who have been explicitly
approved by the thought police. If you do that you are not racist; you
are a cultural expropriator. More at Moonbattery

Flynn’s demise is only the beginning. The coup is underway. Make no
mistake. Morning Joe is over the top this morning. Hysterical. The

Bloomberg has this:
…He was also a fat target

In normal times, the idea that

those worried about creeping authoritarianism. Imagine if intercepts

In the end, it was
Trump’s decision to cut Flynn loose. In doing this he caved in to

Two Wixom residents were

Trump’s influence on the federal judiciary goes further than just

Perhaps we can learn a few
lessons from Europe and not repeat several of their disastrous
decisions. Refugees being one, and how about ensuring enough energy is
available to keep everyone toasty. Add the fact they are paying over
twice as much as we do, I say, let’s use common sense on this issue.
Over-reliance on green energy
and freezing winter weather triggered serious power shortages across
European Union nations,
including Greece and Hungary, hoarded power due to the cold
winter weather. That hoarding triggered shortages that cut off
electricity to tens of thousands of homes and sent power prices
soaring to record levels.
Temperatures across southern
expected to drop below freezing again next week. The continent has
been unable to meet electricity demand, as green energy tends
to go offline in the cold. Solar power, for example, tends to
produce less energy in the winter because the days are shorter.
Europe has increasingly
invested in green energy in recent years, which has created big
problems preventing blackouts during the winter.
The average European
spent 26.9 cents per kilowatt-hour on electricity during the last full
year of data, while the average American only spent 10.4 cents,
according to an analysis
of government data previously published by The Daily Caller News
Even EU nations where power is
relatively cheap pay a lot more for power than any U.S. state. Great
Britain, for example, pays an average of 54
percent more for electricity than Americans paid last year. Much
of the expense comes from subsidies for green energy, which account
for roughly 7 percent of British energy bills, according
to government study released last July.

It’s been a jubilant year in
the wake of Trump’s ascension to the Presidency, but the excitement
hasn’t lasted. I regret to report to you that the Trump wave is
already being aggressively squandered by the same, old, establishment
Republican forces. Activists in the 11th District Republican Party made
national news for their efforts to get Trump elected. Instead of
embarking upon a new era of unity, the establishment actors decided to
kick their deceptions up several notches at last week’s county
The Oakland County GOP
convention actually got off to a good start. After a series of
grueling conventions, there was a sense that all involved wanted party
unity and a smoothly-conducted affair. It ran fine up until the point
when delegates were slotted into their district sub-caucuses. From
there, establishment forces showed that they were not acting in good
faith but instead were leading principled delegates into an
unsuspecting ambush. The Trump ‘kum-ba-ya’ moment was not meant to
be. The establishment cares more about pride, ego, and control than
keeping the peace and crushing Democrats, and their agenda couldn’t
be more obvious.
First, Matt Maddock was
elected chair by an overwhelming margin. This is what usually happens,
but due to Chairwoman
Theresa Mungioli’s unilateral slaughter of over 500 precinct
delegate posts throughout Oakland County, the result was not as
certain as it was in convention’s past. Unfortunately for the
establishment, their dirty tricks backfired, and Matt easily claimed
the chair. Instead of taking their loss with dignity and self-respect,
they rushed headlong into a new series of dirty tricks. This latest
disgrace has perhaps obliterated any lasting opportunity for party
unity once and for all.
After Maddock was elected to
his position, there was a fierce debate over the rules. Discussion was
called, and delegates began to speak. In spite of a tense atmosphere
and heated animosity between the grassroots and establishment
factions, none of the establishment lackey speakers were shouted down.
Even as they were spewing deliberate falsehoods and other ignorant
nonsense, they were granted their right to speak. On the other hand,
Matt’s wife, Meshawn wasn’t treated with the same respect. She was

"The entire point
of the CRA was to help legislators rein in administrations that ignored
statutes and the will of Congress. Few White House occupants ever showed
more contempt for the law and lawmakers than Mr. Obama. It’d
be a fitting and just end to Mr. Obama’s abuse of authority—and one
of the better investments of time this Congress could ever make."

he had reset Washington’s regulatory battle lines.
These days Mr. Gaziano is a senior fellow in
constitutional law at the Pacific Legal Foundation. But in 1996 he was
counsel to then-Republican Rep. David McIntosh. He was intimately
involved in drafting and passing a bill Mr. McIntosh sponsored: the
Congressional Review Act. No one knows the law better.
Everyone right now is talking about the CRA,

over and over again that Planned Parenthood has no prenatal care or
